presents the
Hermosa Beach Open
Professional Beach Volleyball Tournament

September 10-13, 2026

The Wedbush Hermosa Beach Open showcases top-tier talent in professional beach volleyball. Providing Olympic level thrilling matches while celebrating the spirit of the sport, this tournament is also known for bringing the community together. Supporting this event helps promote the growth and popularity of beach volleyball globally.

Thanks to the City of Hermosa Beach, the world class players and sponsors of 2025 as well as the support of volunteers and many others, the Wedbush Hermosa Beach Open will return again in 2026 on Sept 10th-13th.

Many parties are working hard on getting the funding together, but we need the support of players, fans, sponsors, friends and all the beach volleyball community around the world. We need to raise $300,000 for 2026!

This will help cover prize money for both the Men’s and Women’s divisions, a FREE global Live stream, operational costs, professional referees, security teams and much more to make a state of the art, old school feel with a setup that honors the roots of what makes beach volleyball such a great sport.

Admission to the event will remain FREE! The main draw will take place Fri-Sun with a qualifier on Thursday (depending on sign ups).

Beach volleyball has a rich history in Hermosa Beach, California. The city is renowned for its vibrant beach culture, and volleyball has been a significant part of that since the early 20th century. In the 1920s, locals started playing informal games on the beach, eventually leading to the establishment of more structured competitions.

Hermosa Beach became a hub for beach volleyball in the 1960s and 1970s, with the rise of professional tournaments such as the Hermosa Beach Open. This event, along with others like the Manhattan Beach Open and the Laguna Beach Open, helped popularize the sport and attract top players from around the world.

Throughout the decades, Hermosa Beach has hosted numerous high-profile tournaments, including stops on the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) tour and international competitions. The city’s iconic sandy shores and laid-back atmosphere continue to draw volleyball enthusiasts and spectators alike, making it a cornerstone of the beach volleyball scene in California and beyond.
